After Friday's game I'm really not sure what Senators team to expect. The two points would be huge for their push for the playoffs. Let's hope they figure it all out and find a way to play without Stone and Hoffman.

Really hoping Stone is able to return tonight. Watching this team without him and Hoff in the lineup is painful. Tough time to get hit with the injury bug with how tight things are in the Atlantic. If 68 and 61 are out for this entire road trip things could get ugly fast

The Duchene rumours have quieted down the last couple of days (just not on these forums lol).

Take it with a grain of salt, but Bruce Garrioch is reporting the Sens have interest in Sharp, Hudler, Hanzal, Vanek, Stafford, and Parentau.

Outside of Hanzel, most of these players can be had for very little. Nothing wrong with that, but none of these players are significant roster improvements and are all well past their prime (maybe not Hanzel) There is no risk in adding these players.

If Eugene is giving the green light to add to the payroll this trade deadline, lets make a significant move.

What would people move to get Landescog and Duchene? Make a huge splash.

way more than you would want to give up. 3-4 young assets each is the asking price and the Avs aren't budging

Those are the kinds of names that I think were always more likely to be involved - though I think Sharp and Vanek will attract the most competing interest. Parenteau seems like the most likely option to me, but we'll see if they get more ambitious.

Hopefully we've seen the last terrible lowball offer for Duchene for a while... and the equally questionable use of 4-5yr-old stats to try to make Duchene sound like some kind of Hall of Fame lock.

They're never gonna get that........if they're serious about moving either guy the price has to come down. If not they won't be moved........and I'm sure the avs are happy either way

Thats exactly it, they aren't going to drop the price and will be happy to keep them. They have never been shopping them but willing to listen to offers but outlining exactly what they are looking for.

JJ in the Hawks Blog was saying he heard some frame work talks b/w them and the Avs.

It was something like 2017 1st, Forsling or Pokka, Prospects Motte and Fortin, and a depth roster player (cap dump) for Duchene with partially retain salary and an AHL Dman

BSN guys heard that the principles from the Sens were 2017 1st, White, Ceci, and another prospect perhaps (speculating Wolanin bc Jost connection and son of former Avs player in Sakics day)

Avs are not looking for Fair trades, if a team wants to buy Duchene, heres their chance bc they are more than happy keeping him

Here's my thoughts: The sens are going to lose a player through the expansion and depending how they protect it will likely be Methot. So if we're going lose a top 4 for nothing, I'd like to see them bundle Ceci and get a good return and then pay for a rental D to fill in for the rest of the season. Not ideal, but I think it beats loosing your #2 D man for nothing.

Also, I'd like to know if White is planning on returning to college next year because if he's turning down an NHL contract and guaranteed roster spot to go back to college for another year, he'll likely hold off and become a UFA out of college. In that case, I'd have no problem bundling him with Ceci and picks/another lesser prospect and taking a swing at Landeskog.

Although I think the prices for either of them is way to high. I think if Ottawa needs one of them, it's Duchene. Pair his speed with Hoffman and having our top 3 C's be Duchene, Turris and Brassard would make us competitive around the league.

Their are two issues with this...
#1 the price on Duchene is absolutely crazy.
#2 Ottawa's GM's have never been aggressive enough, we aren't a Washington, LA, Pitts, Chicago, etc that is consistently building our team and trying to improve. We seem to get part way through the rebuild, might tweek something very minor here and there as needed but we get way to content with trying to make the playoffs. Rather than trying to win a cup.

really good ..........best bounce back team....

On avs, here's the deal....
IF Landenskog is had I could see White but nm more.

White, Ceci 1st would be fair for Duchene..... even 1 more piece

IF we got Landeskog without giving white or chabot I'll makeout out with Dorion

it's a depth move, probably for the ECHL team, maybe for the AHL....guy is like 30 with zero NHL games.

I'm sure they're just short bodies in the AHL because of the injuries on the big club. he won't sniff a roster spot with the big club

the more I read the more I think this guy might actually be heading to the NHL as a depth forward. when you look at bingo's roster it's easy to see why they'd want to bring someone else in, there is very little to get excited about at forward........almost all of our top prospects are in jr/ncaa/Europe....I honestly can't think of a single forward in bingo who would be more than a 4th liner in the NHL
